Learning Professional Award 2023

Celebrating learning professionals who champion reading and writing

Type: Evaluation and impact
Audience: Additional Support Needs, Primary, Secondary

Do you know someone who is passionate about nurturing a reading culture within your school or community? Someone who really goes the extra mile to get children excited about reading for pleasure?

We'd love to celebrate them through Scottish Book Trust's(this will open in a new window) Learning Professional Award.

We know that there are inspiring individuals all over Scotland who are dedicated to helping children and young people to access the joys of reading and writing. Help us to champion these often-unsung heroes by nominating them for our Learning Professional Award 2023.

We want to hear as much detail as possible about the creative ideas they have shared, initiatives and projects they have started, and the impact that their hard work is having on the young people around them.

The winner of the Learning Professional Award will receive £500 worth of new books courtesy of our sponsors, Browns Books. Scottish Book Trust will also create a short film that showcases the fantastic work being done by our winner.

Some of you will recognise every one of the qualities we're looking for in yourself – and we would encourage you to please put in a self-nomination, even if it feels strange to do so. We want to celebrate you!

You can submit your nomination through the Scottish Book Trust website. The deadline for nominations is 5pm on Friday 9 December.
