Having regular opportunities to read for pleasure, whether that is though set reading times or more spontaneous activities, is crucially important in promoting reading as fun, engaging and accessible. Dedicating regular time for reading outside of the curriculum, solely for pleasure, will instill the important message that all reading is good reading, promote confidence amongst your learners and place real value on the joy of books and stories.
